Chris Broadbent is a Writer, Director & AACTA nominated Producer.
Born in Hobart, Tasmania, Chris was encouraged at young age to express his creativity through drawing and writing but chose to go in the direction of performing arts. When relocating to Sydney, New South Wales at 19, Chris would spend 6 years studying and being conditioned with the renowned Sanford Meisner Technique. There Chris learnt the art of layered Instinctual storytelling on a very strong level. So, with vast learning resources Chris took pen to paper and use the creativity of his imagination through storytelling in screen writing. It was in 2016 whilst staying in Brooklyn, New York Chris began his first short script which he would go on and also direct in 2021 titled 'Balaclava Lane'. He then went on to write and direct another short film, a found footage horror titled 'Don't Go Down There' which was filmed over 5 days during the Covid pandemic.
It was in 2019 Chris took the leap and write his first feature script 'It Will Find You', a First Nations Horror, and after 5 years of development he would then go on and co-direct it with acclaimed genre film maker Enzo Tedeschi of Deadhouse Films.
